Dan Davern MSc GDip BSc Dip NQEMT AP MCPara MInSTR
Chief Executive Officer
Dan is CEO here at DX2 Training Solutions. His main responsibility is to provide leadership and oversight to our organisation. Dan currently holds a BSc in Analytical Science, Dip in Continuing Education and Training, Dip in Emergency Medical Technology, GDip in Emergency medical science giving him Advanced Paramedic status on the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council Register, MSc in Emergency medical science from UCD and numerous other qualifications which can be seen on his Linkedin profile. Dan is also a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council Educational Award Holder at Facilitator Level, a PHECC examiner and sits on The Education & Training Committee at the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council in addition to his appointment as affiliate faculty of NAEMT. Dan is HCPC registered in the UK at Paramedic Level and has also contributed to several publications relevant to Pre-Hospital Care. Dan is a keen Golfer now that his GAA and Rugby careers are over. Dan was awarded Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur as an established business for Fingal in October 2014.
As COO Michelle is responsible for the management of our training operation and quality assurance. With significant post graduate experience working within the Adult Education, Training and Disability sectors Michelle has an excellent understanding of inclusive education and training, lifelong learning & advocacy. Michelle is responsible for the development of our Quality Assurance systems which have been agreed with QQI, the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council, NAEMT (USA) and FutureQuals (UK). She has also developed several programmes from level 1 to 6 on the national framework of qualifications. Michelle holds a BSc (Hons) in Education and Training from DCU among other awards which can be viewed on her Linkedin profile. Michelle also manages the corporate social responsibility programme within DX2, organising fundraising and other events to support local charities and organisations. She also champions our inclusion, equality and diversity programmes ensuring DX2 is recognised as an inclusive organisation for all.
Mary is the operations manager here at DX2. Mary has extensive experience in multiple sectors of industry across all levels. Mary is responsible for the coordination and management of operations at DX2. A highly focused and experienced professional Mary is at the forefront of exceptional customer service and productivity management, allowing DX2 to offer an unrevealed service to our customers.
Aileen joined the DX2 team in 2022 having spent many years in the financial services industry. She has a wealth of experience in customer service and day to day operations in fund administration. In later years, Aileen also held the role of training manager in that industry too. Aileen is responsible for training course administration here at DX2, in addition to supporting the quality assurance systems currently in place. Aileen is a point of contact for new and existing customers engaging with DX2 and provides an unparalleled level of service and support.
Grace joined the DX2 team in 2024. She previously worked in admin in the IT industry. She has a wealth of experience in customer service and operations. Grace is an integral part of our customer service and training course administration team here at DX2, she also serves as the nominated certification officer. Grace is a point of contact for new and existing customers engaging with DX2 and provides an unparalleled level of service and support.
Dermot has been on faculty with DX2 Training Solutions since 2010, he currently holds a Dip in Emergency Medical Technology from Northeastern university in the United States, a GDip in Emergency Medical Science from UCD giving him Advanced Paramedic status here in Ireland and a Dip in continuing education and training from NUIM . Dermot is a multi disciplined Faculty Member delivering multiple courses across our suite. Dermot is also an associate faculty member with University College Dublin, supervising student advanced paramedics during their internship phase. In 2022 Dermot was appointed to the Programme Manager position with responsibility for the Emergency Medical Technology Programmes, Dermot is also a PHECC educational award holder at tutor level and a PHECC Examiner.
Shaun was appointed to faculty with DX2 Training solutions in 2021 and became programme manager for UK programmes in 2022. He currently holds a Bsc (Hons) and a DipHE from Birmingham City University giving him Advanced Paramedic status in Ireland and HCPC Paramedic status in the UK. Shaun has worked in EMS in several areas such as emergency departments, minor injury units, forensics, education, UK and Irish ambulance services. He holds education and training awards from the UK and an educational award at Tutor level from PHECC. Shaun is also a PHECC examiner. He is an active volunteer member of Waterford County Civil Defence, as a team leader medic and educator.
Noel was appointed to faculty with DX2 Training solutions in 2020. He originally qualified as an EMT in Ireland and worked in that role. A graduate of TU Dublin, Noel is a multi disciplined Instructor delivering multiple courses across a suite of programmes including QQI, PHECC and City & Guilds. With a HDip in Occupational Health & Safety (TU Dublin) and a Professional Diploma (HDip) in Education from NUI, Noel specialises in the delivery of our pre-hospital responder programmes. His service in the statutory and voluntary emergency services has led him to attaining qualifications such as a HDip in Contextual Policing, a HDip in Traumatology and PTSD, a Diploma in Training & Continuing Education from NUI, and a HDip in Equality Studies in Training and Development. A graduate member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) Noel is a (QMS) Quality Management Systems auditor and trainer and is accredited by the EHAI and NHP and is currently a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council Educational Award Holder at tutor level and a PHECC examiner.
Liam has been a faculty member with DX2 Training Solutions since 2017 and became a programme manager in 2022 he currently holds a Dip in Emergency Medical Technology from RCSI, a BSc in paramedic studies from the University of Limerick and a graduate diploma in emergency medical science from UCD giving him Advanced Paramedic status here in Ireland. Liam is a multi disciplined faculty member delivering multiple courses across our suite, Liam specialises in the delivery of Geriatric Education for EMS professionals, he is also the holder of a PHECC education award at tutor level and is a PHECC examiner. Liam has also contributed to several publications in the area of Pre-Hospital Care.
Dr Owen Keane is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine with a passion for Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine and Medical Education. He joined the DX2 team as a medical advisor in 2022 working along side Dr Andy Patton. Owen is currently engaged as an emergency medicine consultant in Beamount Hospital, he is honorary secretary of the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine, sits on PHECC’s education and training committee and is a faculty member with RCSI and UCD.
Derek has been a faculty member with DX2 Training Solutions since 2012, he currently holds a Dip in Emergency Medical Technology from Northeastern University in the USA, a GDip in Emergency Medical Science from UCD giving him Advanced Paramedic status here in Ireland and an Msc in Emergency Medical Science. Derek is a multi disciplined instructor delivering multiple courses across our suite and specialises in the delivery of Paediatric Education for Pre-Hospital professionals and our Emergency First Response course. Derek is currently a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council Examiner and facilitator.
Fergus has been a faculty member with DX2 since 2012, he currently holds a Dip in Emergency Medical Technology from Royal College of Surgeons giving him Paramedic status here in Ireland. Fergus is a multi disciplined tutor delivering multiple courses across our suite and specialises in the delivery of our pre-hospital education programmes . Fergus is currently a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council Examiner and Facilitator.
Terry has been on faculty with DX2 Training Solutions since 2010. He currently holds a Dip in Emergency Medical Technology from Royal College of Surgeons, a GDip in Emergency Medical Science from UCD giving him Advanced Paramedic status here in Ireland, a BSc in Paramedic studies from University of Limerick, an MSc in Emergency Medical Science form UCD and a graduate diploma in medical education from RCSI. Terry is a multi disciplined PHECC Facilitator and supports the delivery of our practitioner CPD programmes. Terry is registered with the Health Care Professions Council in the UK as a Paramedic and is affiliate faculty for NAEMT. Terry has been appointed as an assessor of applications for recognition of overseas qualifications by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council and is a facilitator for Critical Incident Stress Management within the EMS sector.
Troy has been on faculty with DX2 Training Solutions since 2011, he currently holds a Bbs (Hons) in Emergency Services, A MSc in emergency management and a Dip in Emergency Medical Technology from Northeastern University in the USA granting him Paramedic status here in Ireland. Troy is a multi disciplined PHECC tutor delivering multiple courses across our suite, his instructor qualifications are visible on his Linkedin profile. Troy has a keen interest in running and cycling and is also a avid golfer.
Stephen has been a faculty member with DX2 Training Solutions since 2017, he currently holds a BSc in Paramedic Studies from the University of Limerick, Dip in Emergency Medical Technology from royal college of surgeons and a Graduate Diploma in Emergency Medical Science giving him Advanced Paramedic status here in Ireland. Stephen is a multi disciplined faculty member delivering multiple courses across our suite and specialises in the delivery of our first aid response courses. Stephen is a former member of the Air Cops and has previously been on the PHECC register as an EMT prior to completing his paramedic training. Stephen is currently studying towards a PHECC educational award at Tutor Level.
Joe has been a faculty member with DX2 Training Solutions since 2017, he currently holds a Dip in Emergency Medical Technology from northeastern university in the USA giving him Paramedic status here in Ireland. Joe is a multi disciplined faculty member delivering multiple courses across our suite and specialises in the delivery of our health and safety courses. Joe is also a member of the GAA and referees both juvenile and adult levels in his spare time.
Pete has been a faculty member with DX2 Training Solutions since 2018, he currently holds an MSc and BSc in paramedic science giving him Paramedic status here in Ireland and HCPC Paramedic status in the UK. Pete is a multi disciplined faculty member delivering multiple courses across our suite and specialises in the delivery of our practitioner education programmes. Pete is also a faculty member of RCSed and several universities in the UK delivering paramedic education.
David joined DX2 as a development faculty member in 2021 progressing to faculty member at the beginning on 2022, he currently holds a Dip in Paramedical science from University College Cork and an MSc in Paramedic Science from UCC giving him Advanced Paramedic status in Ireland. David is an active member of Louth Civil Defence for over ten years where he supports new members and is a mentor to responders and student practitioners. He currently works in a statutory emergency ambulance service and has completed his student tutor programme at DX2. David is currently a PHECC educational award holder at assistant tutor level and has recently contributed to a publication in the area of Pre-Hospital Care.
Rory has been a faculty member with DX2 since 2019, he currently holds a Dip in Emergency Medical Technology from Royal College of Surgeon and a GDip in Emergency Medical Science from UCD giving him Advanced Paramedic status here in Ireland. Rory is a multi disciplined tutor delivering multiple courses across our suite and specialises in the delivery of our pre-hospital education programmes . Rory is currently a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council educational award holder at Tutor Level and a PHECC Examiner. Rory has recently contributed to a publication in the area of Pre-Hospital Care.
Frank has been a faculty member with DX2 since 2019, he currently holds a Dip in Emergency Medical Technology from Royal College of Surgeon and a Dip in Advanced MT giving him Paramedic status here in Ireland. Frank is a multi disciplined tutor delivering multiple courses across our suite and specialises in the delivery of our Health and Safety Programmes . Frank is currently a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council educational award holder at Tutor level and a PHECC examiner.
Paul has been on faculty with DX2 Training Solutions since 2010, he currently holds a Dip in Emergency Medical Technology from Northeastern university in the USA giving him Paramedic status here in Ireland. Paul is a multi disciplined instructor delivering multiple courses across our suite. Paul spends most of his down time running, he has successfully completed the Marathon Des Sables in 2014, dubbed the toughest race on earth, raising thousands for a children’s charity in Dublin. Paul specialises in the delivery of our paediatric first aid and first aid for children programmes.
Sarah was appointed to faculty with DX2 Training solutions in 2020. She originally qualified as an EMT in Ireland and worked in that role. Sarah completed her Diploma in Emergency Medical Science and an MSc in EMS giving her Advanced Paramedic status on the pre-hospital emergency care council register. She also holds a Degree in Psychology from Dublin Business School and a Masters in Health Psychology from the University of Ulster. She currently works as an Advanced paramedic in a statutory emergency ambulance service and is a PHECC educational award holder at Assistant Tutor Level.
