Manual Handling is defined as ‘’transporting or supporting of a load by one or more employees and includes lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving a load, which by reason of its characteristics or of unfavourable ergonomic conditions involves risks, particularly of back injury, to employee’’ This course provides participants with the necessary skill and knowledge to handle safely in the workplace to reduce the risk of workplace injury associated with Manual Handling. This course will inform participants of statistics relating to Manual, the anatomy of the human body, ergonomics, preventative measures and correct lifting technique. The course duration is approximately 3 hours Upon successful completion of this course learners will receive a certificate issued by DX2 Training Solutions which is valid for 2-3 years (depending on occupational environment) Certificate of completion Comprehensive textbook Learners will be continually assessed throughout the duration of the course and are required perform a practical lifting assessment, demonstrating correct technique, upon completion of course. Dan is a qualified paramedic with a diploma in Emergency medical technology from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a graduate diploma in emergency medical science from UCD. Along with Dan’s many years of clinical practice he also holds a Cardiac First Responder Advanced Instructor certificate and a diploma in continuing education and training from NUIM. Troy is a qualified paramedic with a diploma in Emergency medical technology from Northeastern University USA. Along with Troy’s many years of clinical practice he also holds a Cardiac First Responder Advanced Instructor certificate. Dermot is a qualified advanced paramedic with a diploma in Emergency medical technology from Northeastern University and an higher diploma in Emergency medical technology from UCD. Along with Dermot’s many years of clinical practice he also holds a Cardiac First Responder Advanced Instructor certificate and a diploma in continuing education and training from NUIM. Dave is a qualified paramedic with a diploma in Emergency medical technology from Northeastern University USA.
