  • About this course

    The First Aid Response conversion course is a one day course aimed at those who have previously completed the three day QQI level 5 course and wish to convert to PHECC First Aid Response.

    Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council – First Aid Response is designed to meet the first aid and basic life support (BLS) requirements that a person known as “First Aid Responder” may encounter.

    In addition to CFR skills, the First Aid Responder possesses defined skills in the further management of a patient who has become suddenly ill or injured in the pre-hospital environment until the arrival of emergency medical services

  • Course Duration

    The duration of this course is 1 day however this timeframe may be extended for individuals based on their recognition of prior learning application and programme performance.

  • Course Modules

    The modules for this programme offer Learners a bridge between their current attained level of knowledge based on the QQI level 5 occupational first aid and the additional modules included on First Aid Response.

    Modules include:

    Patient assessment & Incident procedures Bridge

    Cardiac First Response- Community

    Common medical emergencies Bridge

    Traumatic emergencies Bridge

    Paediatric emergencies Bridge

  • Entry Criteria

    Entry to this course is available to those who have successfully completed the 3 day QQI Level 5 Occupational First Aid and who’s certificate is not expired. Evidence of previous certification is required prior to acceptance on a course.

    Each potential learner must complete a recognition of prior learning application to obtain recognition for their acquired knowledge attained on QQi level 5 occupational first aid.

    This course is delivered in English as such an acceptable level of English to assimilate and relay the information in the course is required. For further information see our English Language policy

  • Certification

    On successful completion of training learners will receive a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council- First Aid Response Certificate which is valid for 2 years.

    1.  Assessment as per PHECC education and training standards

      2. Practical skills assessments as per PHECC assessment sheets

Troy is a multi disciplined instructor delivering multiple courses across our suite, his instructor qualifications are visible on his Linkedin profile. Troy has a keen interest in running and cycling and is also a avid golfer.
