About this course
Manual Handling is defined as ‘’transporting or supporting of a load by one or more employees and includes lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving a load, which by reason of its characteristics or of unfavourable ergonomic conditions involves risks, particularly of back injury, to employee’’
This Module allows participants to complete the necessary theory modules of Manual Handling on an online platform. Within the Republic of Ireland upon completion of the Theory module a lifting process assessment must be completed with an instructor to become fully certified in Manual Handling, there is no extra charge for the assessment which can be booked by contacting our training department and providing a copy of your theory module completion certificate.

Course Duration
This is an E-Learning module designed to allow you work through the content in your own time and at your own pace. Your module licence will be live for a period of 30 days from your activation date.

Certification
Upon completion of the module a Theory certificate of completion will become available for download which you must present to your instructor prior to your assessment. upon successful completion of the lifting process assessment you will receive a certificate from DX2 Training Solutions Valid for two years.

Assessment
The Theory module has inbuilt continuous assessment which must be completed in order to progress.
The live lifting process assessment with our instructor will involve you demonstrating of a range of manual handling tasks specific to your work environment or the risks associated with your job. The process should take approximately twenty minutes to complete.
NOTE: The lifting process live assessment is only required for those participants working within the Republic or Ireland.

Our Manual Handling Instructors
Dan is a qualified paramedic with a diploma in Emergency medical technology from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a graduate diploma in emergency medical science from UCD. Along with Dan’s many years of clinical practice he also holds a Cardiac First Responder Advanced Instructor certificate and a diploma in continuing education and training from NUIM.
Troy is a qualified paramedic with a diploma in Emergency medical technology from Northeastern University USA. Along with Troy’s many years of clinical practice he also holds a Cardiac First Responder Advanced Instructor certificate.
Dermot is a qualified advanced paramedic with a diploma in Emergency medical technology from Northeastern University and an higher diploma in Emergency medical technology from UCD. Along with Dermot’s many years of clinical practice he also holds a Cardiac First Responder Advanced Instructor certificate and a diploma in continuing education and training from NUIM.
