About this course
Our Sports First Aid & Injury Prevention course is suitable for all persons involved in sporting activity including coaches, athletes, volunteers, teachers and parents. This course provides participants with the skill and knowledge to treat common minor illness and injury occurring within a sporting environment and reduce the likelihood of injury during sporting activity. The course will also enable participants to provide first aid intervention pending the arrival of the emergency services in more serious instances.

Our Sports First Aid & Injury prevention Instructors

Dan is a qualified paramedic with a diploma in Emergency medical technology from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a graduate diploma in emergency medical science from UCD. Along with Dan’s many years of clinical practice he also holds a diploma in continuing education and training from NUIM. Dan has extensive experience in multiple sporting sectors, he was previously employed by the GAA as a games promotions officer has played Gaelic Football and Hurling at extremely high levels as well as competitive rugby union with Clontarf RFC. Dan holds a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is an avid golfer giving him a multi discipline approach to first aid and injury prevention in multiple sports.

Troy is a qualified paramedic with a diploma in Emergency medical technology from Northeastern University USA. Along with Troy’s many years of clinical practice he also holds numerous First Aid Instructor certificates. Troy has extensive experience in multiple sporting sectors, previously competing in rugby union and hurling. Troy currently takes part in competitive running, cycling and triathlons as well as his membership of swords golf club giving him a multi discipline approach to first aid and injury prevention.

Paul currently holds a Dip in Emergency Medical Technology from Northeastern university in the USA giving him Paramedic status here in Ireland as well as multiple instructors certificates. Paul spends most of his down time running, he has successfully completed the Marathon Des Sables in 2014, dubbed the toughest race on earth, raising thousands for a children’s charity in Dublin as well as several 100mile races including the wicklow way 100. Paul also completed at a very high level in soccer and Tae Kwon Do.
